National Honor Society

New Braunfels High School National Honor Society Landa Chapter

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. Territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

Quote from The National Association of Secondary School Principals

The New Braunfels High School Landa Chapter of the National Honor Society is an active service organization.  Our members provide thousands of hours of community service during the school year and make generous donations to local service organizations!

Membership in the Landa Chapter of NHS is offered once annually to junior and senior students who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 5.7000 or above on the 8.0000 scale used by NBHS to calculate class ranks.  These candidates must then provide candidate information, references, and proof of community service hours (documented in the Green Cord database) in order to be admitted to the Chapter.

The process of selection and requirements of membership adhere to the NHS National Constitution requirements and are fully explained in the Landa Chapter Bylaws.

If you do not find answers in the Bylaws, email your question(s) to NBHS NHS Faculty Advisers Sue Barber and Rachel Turner.
